TODAY The Push unveils the incredible opportunities the Music Careers Expo will offer including workshops, presentations and information stalls across events taking place in Queensland, South Australia and Victoria.

Returning to this August, the annual Music Careers Expo is a free, one-day event for young people that provides insights and information on how to get a start in the Australian music industry.

Featuring one-on-one conversations with artists, industry practitioners and education providers, the Music Careers Expo is a fun and interactive way for you to learn and get tailored advice about the various career pathways in music.

“The music industry is continually evolving and it's important that young people have access to relevant information and real experiences as they explore their career options. Whether it’s education pathways, learning new skills or finding new music communities, the Music Careers Expo shows young people what opportunities exist in a safe and accessible way – all for free!” says The Push CEO, Kate Duncan.

The development of the Music Careers Expo has young people at its centre, with local Music Careers Expo Youth Teams taking the reins behind-the-scenes to bring the event to life.

Volunteering for The Push Music Careers Expo last year was one of the most fulfilling experiences I’ve had! It provided an incredible opportunity to immerse myself in [the] music scene and contribute to an event that empowers young people with valuable information and opportunities.

This program centres the agency and interests of young people, ensuring not only a relevant Music Careers Expo, but also the personal and professional development of the participants. The Music Careers Expo Youth Teams have jumped at the chance to build their skills and confidence in event planning – as well as networks within the wider music community.

If you’re a young person with a passion for Australian music and want to pursue a future career in the industry, the Music Careers Expo is for you.

Secondary schools across Queensland, South Australia and Victoria are encouraged to bring student groups to this free, one-day event.
