In 2020, The Push will relocate to a new permanent home at the Collingwood Arts Precinct. Over two floors, The Push will establish a new vibrant hub for young musicians and future music industry leaders to connect, create and learn.

The facility will offer a fully equipped Electronic Music Incubator, a dedicated co-working suite for contemporary music industry representatives to mentor and educate young people, and a space for regular all-ages music events.

Located within the Collingwood Arts Precinct, The Push facility will be home to a series of innovative programs and events for young people to develop skills, knowledge and networks across the contemporary music sector. These new premises will enable The Push to expand its reach, and work towards positioning itself as Australia’s leading youth music organisation over coming years.

Some of the initiatives that will be delivered out of The Push’s new premises and Collingwood Arts Precinct include:

  • An Electronic Music Incubator that will deliver electronic music production workshops and artist in residence programs, as well as a specific stream of programs for young women and gender non binary music makers, supported by Ableton and the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation

  • A contemporary music industry co-working suite that will be the home to a new leading internship program, matching established industry professionals with young music industry practitioners and artists in the early stages of their music career

  • A series of contemporary music industry vocational mentoring programs, masterclasses, professional development and songwriting workshops

  • Regular all-ages events showcasing local and touring artists to a new generation of live music audiences

  • Meeting spaces for all-ages events teams from across Victoria to share ideas, build networks and collaborate

For the first time in 31 years, The Push is reaching out to our community for support to raise $150,000 for our relocation and building fit out.

These funds will be used directly for the costs associated with capital infrastructure, acoustic treatment within our Electronic Music Incubator, furniture and joinery for our office spaces, co-working suites and training spaces.

We need your help to achieve this ambitious target.

Any size donation, big or small, is tax-deductible and will support The Push as we build our new vibrant hub for young musicians and future music industry leaders to connect, create and learn for many more years to come.
