Struggling to get past writer’s block? Or feeling stuck on finishing off that last bit of your next new bop? Don’t stress, because our Song Writing Sessions is back, and this year’s artist mentors are here to help!

After its successful launch in 2020, The Push and APRA AMCOS are excited to announce the return of Song Writing Sessions – a free online coaching program aimed at supporting young music makers in the early stages of their music career.

The Push’s Song Writing Sessions program pairs established hitmakers with young and emerging creatives to help develop song writing skills and provide an opportunity for participants to workshop one of their own original songs.

As a participant, young song writers will receive direct support from one of this year’s artist mentors, which include:

  • Sampa Tembo (aka Sampa The Great)

  • Courtney Barnett

  • Dallas Woods

  • Tia Gostelow

  • Sasha McLeod (Sycco)

  • Booka Nile (Make Them Suffer / Internet Friends)

  • Eamon Sandwith (The Chats)

  • Jono Tooke (Cry Club)

It’s time for you to dig out those half-finished tracks and get your application in to be part of this year’s program.

This opportunity is open to young Australian song writers aged 14 – 25 year’s old, living, working, or studying anywhere in the country, with sessions facilitated via Zoom.
