We’re looking for TWO young musicians or bands in or near Mackay, Queensland to open for Great Gable and Kitschen Boy as part of the The Reef Trail presented by QLD Music Trails. Set the tone for a HUGE afternoon of all-ages live music in Mackay!
This is a paid, live performance opportunity NOT to miss.

+ Terms and Conditions
- Applications open 16 May 2024 and close at 3 June 2024.
- We will be choosing TWO local young bands or artists to play at All-Ages: Great Gable + Kitschen Boy as part of the Reef Trail presented by QLD Music Trails – Saturday 6 July 2024.
- The winner(s) will be chosen by The Push and All-Ages Events Team for QLD Music Trails Mackay.
- The winner(s) will be picked based on their ability to deliver a good live performance suitable for one or more of the above shows.
- The winner(s) will be notified the notified of outcome by 10 June 2024.
- The winner(s) will receive the opportunity to perform at All-Ages: Great Gable + Kitschen Boy as part of the Reef Trail presented by QLD Music Trails – Saturday 6 July 2024.
- The winner(s) will receive a single performance fee for the show of $500 across the whole performing outfit (regardless of band size).
- Artists will be responsible for making their way to and from the event.
- The prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash.
- No replacement will be offered in the event that the prize cannot be claimed on the stipulated dates.
- Judges’ decisions are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
- As a winner, you will be representing The Push at this event. As such you are obligated to behave responsibly and professionally, and comply with the rules and requests that the event organisers ask of you.
+ What do I need to include in my application?
Applicants will be required to submit:
- 1 x 3-minute (max) video introducing yourself (artist name/members/music style), explaining what performing at the show would mean to you, why you believe all-ages shows are important and what has been your most memorable moment in your music career to date. Please name the file: ‘(Artist Name)_Video_Application.mp4’
- 1 x 5-minute (max) video of you performing your best song (this can be in front of a live audience or in your bedroom). Please name the file: ‘(Artist Name)_Live_Performance.mp4’
- Complete online application form including contact details and written responses
+ Who can apply?
While the program is open to all Queensland artists local young artists and performers under 25 years of age, priority will be given to artists who are:
- First Nations young people
- Young people of colour
- Young women
- Non-binary young people
- Young people with a disability
- LGBTQIA+ young people
