The Push launches new series of Music Industry Masterclasses for young people

Australian youth music organisation The Push is launching a series of FREE Music Industry Masterclasses, designed to give young people an opportunity to develop practical skills and knowledge to pursue a career in music. Through these workshops, you can expect to hear from industry professionals and meet with like-minded music peers to expand your networks and gain the tools and advice needed for your pathway to employment and a career in the Australian music industry.

The first workshop of the series is happening on Thursday 4 May at Collingwood Yards, with industry practitioners Claire Mooney (triple j), Sara Glaidous (triple j Unearthed), Nathaniel Peacock (Ditto Music) and Genna Alexopoulos (Super Duper) breaking down their insights, tips and tricks for everything you need to know on releasing your music.

Aligned with the Victorian Government’s Youth Strategy; Our Promise, Your Future, the Music Industry Masterclasses program addresses the strategic priority to build Victoria’s future creative workforce through supporting young people who want a career in the creative industries.

“We know after the last three years young people need more opportunities than ever to connect with industry practitioners and meet like-minded peers. The Push’s Music Industry Masterclasses respond to this – giving young people the skills, confidence and networks they need for a vibrant and sustainable career in the Australian music sector”.

– Kate Duncan, CEO, The Push
