Applications now open to play the 2023 Music Careers Expo
Do you want to play at the Music Careers Expo?
The Music Careers Expo returns this August, and we are looking for young artists from Adelaide, Ipswich and Melbourne to bring their music to the stage!
If you're a young artist aged 25 years or under and want to bring your tunes to a new audience, all you have to do submit your application below to be in the running!

- Applications open 12:00pm AEST on Wednesday 5 July 2023 and close at 5:00pm AEST Monday 24 July 2023.
- We will be choosing up to 3 bands or artists per event.
- Tuesday 15 August - Music Careers Expo Melbourne - Corner Hotel
- Tuesday 22 August - Music Careers Expo Adelaide - The Gov
- Wednesday 28 August - Music Careers Expo Ipswich - Corner Hotel
- The applicant(s) will be chosen by The Push and Music Careers Expo Event Teams.
- The applicant(s) will be picked based on their ability to deliver a good live performance suitable for one or more of the above events.
- The applicant(s) will be notified the notified of outcome Friday 28 July 2023.
- An opportunity to perform at The Push Music Careers Expo in Melbourne, Adelaide or Ipswich.
- A performance fee of $200 per show.
- Artists will be responsible for making their way to and from the event.
- Judges’ decisions are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
- As a successful applicant, you will be representing The Push and the local team at the event. As such you are obligated to behave responsibly and professionally and comply with the rules and requests that the event organisers ask of you.
+ What do I need to include in my application?
Applicants will be required to submit at least 1 (ONE) of the following:
- A link to a 1 x 3-minute (max) video introducing yourself (artist name/members/music style), explaining what performing would mean to you and what has been your most memorable moment in your music career to date. Please include your artist name in the name of the video.
- A written statement introducing yourself (artist name/members/music style), explaining what performing would mean to you and what has been your most memorable moment in your music career to date. There is a section to include this in the form.
You will also need to:
- Include a link to a 1 x 5-minute (max) video of you performing your best song (this can be in front of a live audience or in your bedroom). Please include your artist name in the name of the video.
- Complete the rest of the online application form including contact details and written responses
+ Who can apply?
While the program is open to all Victoria, Queensland and South Australia young artists and performers under 25 years of age, priority will be given to artists who are:
- First Nations young people
- Young people of colour
- Young women
- Non-binary young people
- Young people with a disability
- LGBTQIA+ young people
