Face the Music Conference Scholarship

FTM key art vertical hires - CopyFace The Music and FReeZA are pleased to announce up to 25 scholarships for young people who have participated in the FReeZA Program and are committed to developing a career in the contemporary music and entertainment sectors. The 2015 scholarship program follows the success of the program last year.

Past scholarship recipient Rose White aged 18 from Broadford in regional Victoria said, “The scholarship allowed me to connect with experts in the industry. It has also helped me to gain knowledge and an understanding of what it takes to be in the industry, as well as what it is all about! The information I have received will not only help to further my hopeful career as an event manager, but will continue to help in every aspect of my ongoing career aspirations”.

The Face The Music industry conference will be held on November 13 & 14 at Arts Centre Melbourne, featuring two jam-packed days of panel sessions, keynote presentations, meeting opportunities, practical music workshops and intimate master classes. It offers the opportunity to exchange ideas, make new connections and support each other’s professional development. From artists and managers, labels and journalists, festivals and start-ups to policy-makers and music activists, Face The Music covers every inch of the music industry.

Successful applicants will receive:

  • A complementary pass to Face The Music conference, featuring access to over 30 different sessions covering all aspects of professional development in the music industry and support to ensure they get the best out of their conference experience
  • Further workshop opportunities for participants will be announced closer to the event
  • Scholarship holders from outside the metro area also receive reimbursement for their V-Line travel


Applications are open to people who have had an active involvement in FReeZA and have already demonstrated the steps they are taking toward pathways into employment in the music and entertainment sectors. Applicants may be musicians performing at FReeZA events, young people on FReeZA Committees, or involved in other ways in their local community. Applicants should be under the age of 25. To be successful, applicants must demonstrate they have taken steps towards building a career in the music industry and that attending Face the Music will be of benefit to them.
