The Push are jumping in the bus and heading across Victoria these July school holidays for the 2017 Freeza Summits – a series of free music industry training workshops for young people.
Over three days, The Push will be teaming up with a bunch of industry professionals to deliver tailored sessions, advice and information for young people interested in pursuing a career within the music, events or wider arts industries.

Booking Agents and Artist Offers

Want to book a headline artist for your Freeza event but don’t know what information to include in your offer? How do you determine what an artist is worth? Facilitated by Josh Lane at 123 Agency, this session will break down everything you need to consider when you’re approaching a booking agent or artist with an event offer and negotiating a deal.

Social Media and Facebook Advertising

Are you using social media to promote your Freeza events? How do you know if you’re getting the attention of your all-ages audiences and getting your event the right exposure and awareness? This session will go through the basics of digital advertising to get you started, a step-by-step guide on how to set up a post boost for maximum awareness of your event, and the tools and resources you’ll find useful if you want to deep digger into digital marketing.

Event Artwork and Visual Design
Presented by The Push IncHaving effective event artwork and visual design is essential to the success of any Freeza event. What imagery and branding best connects with young markets? Learn some simple and engaging ways that will allow your Freeza team to better connect with young people. This interactive session will unpack the do’s and don’ts of event artwork and visual design and will get you thinking in new ways about how to improve the branding of your events.
What Makes A Good Freeza Worker?

Freeza programs are facilitated with many different models and approaches, but an effective program is always led by a worker who engages in ways young people feel respected and equal. In this session The Push Inc will lead a discussion with a panel of young people from Freeza teams across Victoria to explore first-hand what they think makes a good Freeza worker.

All-Ages Event Pitch Session

This moderated session is an opportunity to unpack your all-ages event ideas with a panel of industry representatives who will give individualised feedback on the artist curation, marketing, venue and logistics of your event. Learn directly from professionals around how to make your event unique and appropriate for an all-ages audience.
Your Freeza Program
Presented by The Push Inc and Department of Health and Human Services
This session will provide an opportunity for Freeza workers to troubleshoot any program related issues, concerns or hot topics amongst other workers. DHHS and Push staff will offer advice and innovative ideas for support.
Please note: The Freeza Summits held on Friday 14 July at Fitzroy will be delivered on a rotating schedule. Attendees will get to attend all workshops, however these will be delivered over four small group sessions throughout the day.
The 2017 Freeza Summits are free for all young people, aged 12-25 and include lunch.
