Then you check out the Port Phillip FReeZA Committee’s Unsigned Music Battle taking place at Luna Park on its 103rd birthday. If you’re under 25 and live/work/school in Port Phillip Council, this is the opportunity for you. Four bands will be chosen to battle it out on stage in December. The Surrey Hills Music Festival (November 20-22) is a great annual community event and they need volunteers to help in many areas such as bump in and bump out, on the bar, in the cafe, stage managers, MCs, selling raffle tickets, decorating stages, checking facilities, directing traffic, manning the information table, crowd marshalling, taking photos. The Geelong Revival Motoring Festival (November 27-29) is looking for volunteers! They look for everything from set up crew in the week leading up to the festival, event rovers, program sellers, assistants over the weekend, ticket sellers and many more roles! Aim For The Stars: Scholarships for girls
The Layne Beachly Aim for the Stars Foundation is offering scholarships to girls aged 12 and above who have big dreams and are committed to achieving them. So if you’re a Victorian girl with a great idea or a dedication to a chosen pursuit then this could provide the extra financial support to get things off the ground. The scholarships include categories for Arts, Media and Entertainment and Culture and Community and award up to $4,000 for individuals and $6,000 for group scholarships.
