Nightlight EP Launch at Macleod College

On Saturday 23 June, a joint effort between Jets Records and the Deep Smash Arts Banyule FReeZA Crew saw Nightlight officially launch their debut EP in an epic night of music and good vibes alongside the one and only Bec Sandridge, and local artists Dover Island and Mythic.

Earlier in the year, Jets Records’ latest signing released their first single Breathing to the masses at Twilight Sounds and the EP Launch again brought their blended sound of danceable synth-pop rap to everyone. From the very beginning of the night, the crew and artists were buzzing with anticipation amongst the set-up of the stage, and the many many (many) fairy lights.

The official proceedings were kicked off with Dover Island getting everybody up and into it with a performance to remember and that everybody enjoyed immensely. They were followed by Mythic laying down the rhymes complete with the moves as the crowd was kept involved, bopping along with the sick beats from the drummer.

Then came the main event of the night when nightlight performed their set, taking us “on a magic carpet ride” with the new songs off their EP creating a unique and original vibe. The girls absolutely owned the stage with their immense young talent and personalities. To finish the night off on a high, the amazing Bec Sandridge graced the stage with an impressive one-woman show, taking us through some good vibe tunes, keeping the connection going and was exceptionally eloquent and humble consistently over the whole night.

The night as a whole was very successful and those behind it all put in a lot of hard work and preparation into pulling this event off, which was clear to everyone there enjoying the night.
