New Slang at the Channel in June

From the north east suburbs of Melbourne, Dex certainly bought an epic start to the New Slang’s Hip Hop night. Despite being the opening act, Dex still managed to bring the vibes, drawing the attention of the growing crowd. With an extensive range of original lyrics and excellent beats Dex certainly turned some heads at new slang’s June gig.

With a unique approach to hip hop using a full band to create some excellent music Mose and the FMLY were certainly a highlight. The band bring a sense of passion to the stage as well as their songwriting. As the venue began to pack in Mose delivered feel good instrumentals with an exceptional contrast in female and male vocals. Overall Mose and the FMLY performed a stand out set and were certainly a crowd favourite.

The main act for New Slang’s June gig was the infamous Baro. With a unique style that jumps from one genre to the next, Baro is hard to critique. He and his band create the perfect balance of music that manages to stand out but is not too obscure. With a relaxed on stage vibe and very original material Baro creates an atmospheric set which all music lovers can appreciate.

Francois finished off the set and despite having a lesser audience than the other artists, he certainly bought the hype. With an energetic attitude and loud backings Francois made sure he and everyone were having a good time. With fantastic energy Francois finished off the night with a bang.
