Friday 8th of June, local Monash FReeZA Crew, Quiksound Productions hosted their annual Monash Music Battle as part of the FReeZA Push Start (FPS) music competition.
The night was filled with wonderful performances from a range of local talent. Our performers for the night were Lucy Paterson, Island Dogs, Dante, Kath Rozckya, Post Pacific, Lynn Ng, Still Standing and Alex and Bella. It was a great mix of bands, small groups and soloists, who battled it out in front of our wonderful live audience on the night. Many new original songs were performed by these up and coming artists and it was fantastic to see such a brilliant and diverse range of young artists from our local area who came along to compete for the final prize.
Lynn Ng was the successful winner of our Monash Music Battle for 2018 taking away 1st prize, including a recording studio session with Pony Music and a Masterclass with ARIA award winning record producer Jimi Maroudas, plus a photo shoot and opportunity to progress to the Eastern regional finals. Our second place winner (also winner of Audience Choice) was Dante who won a $150 worth of merchandise from Versus Merch and a photo shoot from Noah CC Photography.
The crew worked very hard for months to pull this event off and this was clearly evident on how successful and seamlessly the night ran. It’s always a highlight as crew members to have these opportunities available and accessible to young people within the area, and even better when we all have fun in the process! Quiksound productions would like to wish Lynn Ng all the best for representing the City of Monash at the regional finals coming up and would also like to congratulate and thank all our Music Battle participants for 2018. We look forward to next year’s Monash Music Battle!
