Wil Wagner to head up free music industry training summits, program released
The Push is bringing FREE music industry and event training to Melbourne, Ballarat and Gippsland during the July school holidays, as part of the Push FReeZA Summits. They’re open for anyone to attend, to get some free professional development in event management as well as participate in hands-on workshops, networking, and hear firsthand from music industry experts. Lunch is provided on the day. Check out the Summit programs, all summits run from 10.30am-3.30pm.

The program includes:
- A session on careers in the music industry, including getting your foot in the door and planning, with Wil Wagner (The Smith Street Band), Ash Sambrooks (Higher Plains), and Steve Nichols (Spinning Half)
- Sound and lighting workshop with Moss Music Group
- Implementing a successful publicity plan with Ash Sambrooks
- Using Community Radio in a marketing plan, with SYN Media
- Event Management – Planning for a creative event concept with Phil Pandongan (The Push) and DJ Rellik
- Securing a lineup, deals and bands, with Steve Nichols
- Referral program for experienced event committee members
- Live lunchtime performance from Wil Wagner, and free lunch
- Networking opportunities

The Push Professional Development Scholarship to attend BIGSOUND
We’re excited to announce The Push Professional Development Scholarship to attend BIGSOUND, giving one young person aged 18-25 years from Victoria a scholarship to attend the BIGSOUND Music Conference in Brisbane during September 9-11, 2015. The lucky recipient receive a conference delegate pass, allowing the participant to attend all sessions including all live showcases (valued at $350) and thanks also to the Travel Beyond Group they will receive up to $550 towards accommodation and transportation.
The scholarship will incorporate a range of one-on-one support and program planning prior to the conference by The Push Team, to assist the winner in enhancing their BIGSOUND experience. The good folks at Triple J Unearthed are giving one band anywhere in Australia the chance to win an opening slot at Splendour in the Grass.
