FReeZA Push Start Battle of the Bands: Finalists set to compete at Moomba for $11k+ grand prize
The nine finalists for the Freeza Push Start Battle of the Bands 2014 series beat over 350 bands across Victoria to earn their spot at the Grand Final at Melbourne’s Moomba Festival on March 7, where they will be competing for a $11k+ prize pack. This year’s finalists will be bringing a wide variety of styles to the festival with rap, metal, rock and folk music being some of the genres on display.

Following the competition, The Push Stage will feature headliners Japanese Wallpaper, Yeo, Tully on Tully, and Stax Osset, followed by the Moomba fireworks at 9.30pm.

Hilltop Hoods Initiative open for applications
One emerging Australian hip hop/soul artist will have the opportunity to fast track their career with the 2015 Hilltop Hoods Initiative. Valued at $10,000, the initiative is open to all up-and-coming hip hop/soul artists or groups who have not yet released an album professionally. The Under Age is looking for a group of seven new young journalists to join the team for 2015. The Under Age is an online newspaper written entirely by Victorian high school journalists, covering news, sport, politics, art and culture. Each fortnight the group will meet with industry professionals to learn about working in journalism and to workshop story ideas.
