You may have felt a bit down over the past few weeks because a whole heap of Splendour sideshows have been announced but very few seem to be all ages. Not to mention that we don’t have an equivalent to The Metro in Sydney so they reap a lot more all age shows than we do. It’s a cruel world. But maybe you scored Blur tickets last week which would banish any other missing-out blues. And did you hear that The Wombats are playing an all age show at The Palais? It’s not all bad, friends.
Last week King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard released their new record ‘Quarters!’ which features 4 track all exactly 10 minutes and 10 seconds long. If you thought they couldn’t get any better than their last record, you’re wrong because this is a winner. You can listen to it for free on Bandcamp and buy it there as well.
Is it true that we finally have a release date for Tame Impala’s new record ‘Currents’? Apparently it’s July 18 so mark it in your journal, set a countdown, the whole works, it’s gonna be big.
Applications are now open to volunteer at Reclink Community Cup. RCC is an iconic fundraising event which has been staged in Melbourne for the past 21 years. From what started out as a humble Aussie Rules match amongst the music fraternity, it is today an event which last year saw over $100,000 raised and a record attendance of over 13,500 people. Today the Reclink Community Cup is very much part of the Melbourne music and sporting event calendar. For info on how to apply and what the roles involve, go to www.musicvictoria.com.au
