About Us

The Push is an Australian youth music organisation and registered charity based in Melbourne. Over three decades we have supported millions of young people with access to contemporary music programs and events.

Our work is guided by our purpose of giving every young person the opportunity to participate and thrive in Australian music.

The Push is a not-for-profit organisation and donations of $2 and over are fully tax deductible.

Our Impact in 2023

  • 135,264 young people had the opportunity to attend a safe and accessible all-ages event

  • 2,200 young people developed their skills and networks through our education and training programs

  • We generated 22% of new revenue across the organisation

  • We increased our followers across digital platforms by 17%

Our Strategy

The Push Strategy 2022-2025 was developed in consultation with our Board of Management, young people, industry practitioners, and strategic partners. The Push Strategy 2022-2025 will see us achieve the following over the next four years:

  • Give 140,000 young people the opportunity to attend a safe and accessible, all-ages live music event

  • Support more than 10,000 young people with access to skills and networks through our education and training programs

  • Generate more than $1 million in new revenue across the organisation through partnerships, products and service fees

  • Implement our first Reconciliation Action Plan and achieve increased representation of First Nations young people across our staff, governance and programs

  • Increase our organisational awareness and online engagement, maintaining a 'forever young' audience nationally

  • Have 50% of our Board of Management positions occupied by young people

Our Team

While The Push delivers a massive amount of all-ages events and programs, our team is relatively small. We work efficiently and effectively to deliver high-quality outcomes for the music creators, professionals and audiences of tomorrow.

Our Board

The Push is a registered charity that was set up as an Incorporated Association in 1988.

Governed by a Board of Management, board members oversee the organisation’s strategic direction, financial position and legal obligations. The board ensures that The Push achieves its purpose, employing staff to undertake the day-to-day operations of the organisation.
