How To Not Take S**t Photos
The privilege of shooting festivals and music events may sound like a luxury, but the truth is, music photographers put blood, sweat and tears into their work, and often for little return. From Falls Festival, Soundwave, Golden Plains and Meredith to Future Music and Laneway Festival, this session will discuss the trials and tribulations of music photography and indeed “How To Not Take S*** Photos!” Photographer, Nikki Williams shares her stories from the pit, as well as live music photography advice, passed down from some of the legends of the industry.
Social Media Skillz To Pay The Billz
From Facey to Insta, Snaps to Tweets, the smorgasbord of social media at our fingertips has fundamentally come to alter the way we communicate with our family, friends, peers, customers and even those with whom we’re not yet acquainted. But which social networks in the marketer’s quiver rule supreme? What sort of content is the most attention-grabbing? How do we locate and target demographics? What are peak times? When and how should we Boost posts? Artist manager, music publicist & event promoter Zac Abroms (who recently celebrated his 10th year on Facebook) presents a rare opportunity to slide into the DMs of his marketing brain at this masterclass in social media designed to equip you with all of the tips and tricks to run a social media empire from the palm of your hand.
Write The Perfect Resume
Been trying to land that dream job, but haven’t heard back about an interview? Your resume is your most important tool when applying for a job. It doesn’t matter how qualified you are, or how much experience you have – if your resume is poorly presented or badly written, you’re going to have trouble getting the job you want. The Push’s Mentoring Development Manager Melinda Dine will go through the do’s and don’ts for putting together the perfect resume, as well as explain how to make the most of your Freeza experience on paper.
How To Set Up A Killer Backline
For generations humankind has been asking the same questions – Where do drummers come from? Why do guitarists believe they’re the dominants species on the planet? Can any singer really sing? And – Is there really anything inside a bassist’s head? Questions like these won’t really be answered in this masterclass, but you’ll be given the tools you need to set you off on your own sonic journey into the wibbly-wobbly world of the ‘music scene’ through focusing on how to set up that corner of the room or that stage in your local community hall as a literal platform for your musicians to strut their stuff. The Push’s Freeza Push Start Coordinator Vito Lucarelli will talk you through drum kits, guitar amps, all the different types of microphones and where to put them. After this session you’ll be the perfect apprentice to the sound-sorcerer at your next live gig.
